Written reflection questions for James Nachtwey opioid epidemic photo essay |
"I will reflect (in writing) on the photographs and words of photojournalist James Nachtwey, whose photo essay about America's opioid epidemic was published in Time magazine a few weeks ago."
(Tues. or Wed.) - At the beginning of the period, students will browse the internet and choose a photo that they will use for the background in their Green Screen Photoshop project. After that, in small groups, students will shoot their classmates in front of a green screen as they pose for a photo to go along with their internet background photo. Students will then follow directions in the Green Screen tutorial, using their photos to complete the project.
"I will demonstrate my Photoshop skills by combining a green screen background photo with a posed photo of myself in a creative way."
(Thurs.) - Students will turn in their total number (20) of Architecture photos. Then, students will carefully look at their photos, choose the best one, edit it and turn it in to the shared Google Drive folder.
"I will closely examine all of my photos before I choose the best one (Architecture photo) to edit, making sure the photo is cropped correctly and has good exposure (using levels, the burn and dodge tools, etc."
(Fri.) - Students may use the class time to either finishing their edit of the best architecture photo or complete the green screen Photoshop project. If both of those assignments are done, students should continue to enter photos in their Google portfolio.
