(Mon. - Tue.) - Students will watch the first part of the DVD "Go Above and Beyond Auto," taking notes and being involved in a discussion.
"I will begin my understanding of the functions of a DSLR camera (F/stops, shutter speeds, depth of field) by watching a DVD and taking notes."
(Wed.) - Students will take the first part of the "Go Above and Beyond Auto" test. After the test, students will one of their own landscape photos (preferably with clouds) or the given one (Taos, New Mexico), Students will follow directions in a video tutorial and create an Ansel Adams style effect using Photoshop.
"By remembering what I learned from the DVD, I will answer correctly as much as I can on the first part of the test."
(Thurs.) - Students will take one of their own photos (other than the one used in the Ansel Adams Photoshop project) that would make an excellent black and white photo, After time is spent editing it using levels, etc. to make pure blacks, whites and grays, the photo will be printed as an 8 x 10 print on matte paper.
"I will learn the advantage of making a print in black and white, by choosing one of my photos and editing it in Photoshop, emphasizing rich blacks and whites."
(Fri.) - Students will see examples of their next shooting assignment, "Phobias," and be told about shooting tips and a deadline. Students will know which phobia they will have to shoot by picking one randomly out of a cup.
"Through seeing examples and discussion, I will be ready to begin shooting my assignment, "Phobias," and meet the assignment's requirements."
