((Mon.) - Using sample photos, students will practice Camera Raw settings in Photoshop CC. (Tues.) - While in groups, students will shoot the Selective Focus assignment, shooting at F/2.8 and F/22. (Wed.) Students will get the Edmodo class password and begin loading their HDR (3 photos in a folder) and Selective Focus (two photos in a folder) assignments into Edmodo for grading. (Thurs)- Students will have time to complete "Scanner Darkly" Photoshop project, then turn it in to the shared Google Drive folder. (Fri.) - Finish working on Scanner Darkly Photosjhop project.
Week of Sept. 14-18 (Mon.) -- Handout of first photo shoot assignments and deadlines will be distributed. Discuss course outline and distribute parents’ communication letter. Finish any remaining Getting to Know You PowerPoints. Hand out Digital Workflow (Photoshop) worksheet and display and discuss location of Photoshop tools, menu items and palettes. (Tues-Wed.) -- Students will be on computers and work on Digital Workflow items. (Thur.) -- Students, in groups, will use class time to shoot either the F/2-F/22 or HDR assignments. (Fri.) -- If HDR photos were shot, students will work on Photoshop step-by-step instructions to complete the three needed photos to be turned in to Edmodo. Week of Sept. 8-11

Students will brainstorm at least five possible photo assignments that the Photo II-III students could shoot (avoid listing any assignments shot in Photo I).
Photoshop Projects Young Me, New Me -- Place two photos of yourself of the same type of pose side by side. One should be a photo of you eight years or younger, the other a current photo with the same pose. Blend them in seamlessly together using your Photoshop skills. Drawing on Creativity -- (see attached instructions)
Week of April 20-24 (Mon.) -- Last class time to work on local photographer (3-minute) speeches. (Tues.) Field trip to Seattle (Wed-Fri) - Local photographer speeches will be presented.
Week of April 13-17 --(Mon.) - Students will view more than 100 photos nominated for the state photo contest. They will also work on their local photographer Power Point shows. --(Tues.) Students will receive their next 12 photo shoot assignments --(Wed.-Fri.) -- Photo II students will learn about two more Photoshop projects (Out of Proportion and Drawing on Creativity). They will also continue to work on local photographer speeches. Week of March 30-April 3 --(Mon-Wed.). -- Students will continue to work on their Personal Reflection Portfolio. (Thurs.) -- Students will brainstorm at least three shooting assignments for possible upcoming assignments. (Fri.) -- A few upcoming photo shoots will be discussed .
Week of March 23-27 --(Mon). -- Students will receive graded "Eight proof sheet" checklist. They will also continue to work on Personal Reflection Portfolio (Tues.-Fri) -- Students will continue to work on their Personal Reflection Portfolio. Photo III-IV site for Anne Geddes Photoshop project http://www.digitalimagemagazine.com/stock-images/how-to-create-anne-geddes-baby-portrait/ Week (March 16-20) --(Mon.) --Guest speaker Tyler Austin of TAustin Photography will demonstrate and discuss portrait photography with students. --(Tues-Wed.) Students will receive the criteria for the Personal Reflection Portfolio project and begin to search for photos that may be a part of the portfolio. They will also be reminded about how to find out a photo's metadata information which is required in the portfolio. -(Wed-Thurs.) Photo II students will work on Photoshop Project (A Scanner Darkly portrait technique--handout) and Photo III-IV will work on the Photoshop Project -- Anne Geddes (see link for tutorial above).
Week of March 9-13 --(Mon.) - Looking, Writing and Seeing #1 --(Tues.) - Proof sheet/best photo exercise; Begin turning in eight proof sheets for second deadline. --(Wed.) -- Eight proof sheets due. --(Thur.) - Begin editing and placing eight more best photos into Edmodo. --((Fri.) - Continue to place eight best photos into Edmodo.
Week Feb. 23-27 --(Mon) - Students will check comments and grades for their first deadline proof sheets and six photo assignments. Those not having already shot their HDR or time exposure could do so today. --(Tues.) - Photoshop project: From photo to pencil drawing. Week of Feb. 9-13 --(Mon.) – Students will complete the HDR assignment by following step-by-step instructions, placing three photos in folder (the “0” photo, photorealistic and “fancy” Photoshop). --(Tues.) –In small groups and with a tripod, students will go out into the halls and shoot time exposures (one second or longer). --(Wed-Fri.). Students will turn in requried proof sheets from the first deadline and edit their best photos. They will receive the class code for Edmodo so they can submit their photos for teacher grading/comments.
Week of Feb. 2-6 (Mon.) – Students will continue to present their PowerPoint shows to the class, featuring the 10 biographical photos. (Tues.- Thurs.) Students will follow along with their Photo I classmates, working on the Digital Workflow using Photoshop CC worksheet, especially recognizing specific areas they need to improve. During this time, in small groups, students will shoot HDR photos and then complete the assignment using Photoshop. (Fri.) Students will review the semester course outline and receive a communication letter to their parents. They will also begin to work on their HDR project in Photoshop.
Week (Jan. 26-30) SECOND SEMESTER BEGINS --(Mon.) - Introduction. Students will view lists of past Photo II assignments and prioritize the assignments, which might influence the types of photos assigned this semester. --(Tues.-Wed.) - Students will create a PowerPoint biography about themselves, using 10 photos (with captions) that depict their family life, friends, pets, activities, likes, dislikes, etc. --(Thurs.) - Biography PowerPoint shows will be presented to the class. --(Fri.) - The Photo II-III photo assignments will be revealed.
