Go Above and Beyond Auto, part 2 worksheet |
(Mon.) - Students will add photos and Photoshop projects to their Google Drive portfolios. Some photos and assignments will also be returned. Those who haven't shot the 16 flashlight portraits can also complete the assignment.
"I will celebrate my past photos and projects by adding to my portfolio and evaluating my photos and Photoshop projects using the posted templates."
(Tues.-Wed.) - After the first part of the test results are given to students and discussed, students will take notes on the second part of the movie, "Go Above and Beyond Auto," along with teacher-directed class discussion of the movie's content.
"I will employ my note-taking skills by identifying and selecting the most important information found in the viewing of a photo instructional DVD (second part of "Go Above and Beyond Auto," which includes an emphasis on the exposure triangle [shutter speeds, F/stops and ISO]."
(Thurs.) - Students will browse through about 25 photo books with themes for their future photo book project.
"I will compare and examine photo books which will help me identify what makes a strong, one-themed photo book."
(Fri.) - Students will use their notes while taking the second part of the "Go Above and Beyond Auto" test.
"I will solve the problems on the test by the information recorded by my note-taking skills."

16 Flashlight Lighting Portraits examples
(Mon.) - Students will add Photoshop filters to three of their own photos, turning in both the original and changed photos to Google Classroom. Scanner Darkly Photoshop printed photos and notes from the first part of the test will also be returned.
I will create a new version of three of my photos, using Photoshop filters and selection skills.
(Tues.) - After turning in the total number of Portrait with Collection photos into Google Classroom, students will choose their best one, edit it, and place it in Google Classroom.
I will closely examine all of my photos before I choose the best one (Portrait of person with collection photo) to edit.
(Wed,) - In small groups, students will shoot three-second time exposures of each other, using a tripod and shutter-priority mode.
I will demonstrate what I learned in last week's Go Above and Beyond Auto test, by shooting a three-second exposure of my classmates (using the shutter-priority mode on a DSLR).
(Thurs.) - In groups of three, students will shoot, model and move the light source (flashlight) to shoot at least 16 flashlight-lighting portraits. If I am not in a shooting group, I will work on my Portfolio in Google Drive.
I will experiment with basic lighting and how it changes the effect of a person in a portrait photo.
(Fri.)- Students will view examples of and receive information and deadlines about their next photo shoot assignment, Landscape with Foreground Emphasis.
I will recognize the needed subject matter for my next photo shoot by viewing examples of landscape with foreground emphasis photos.
